Building Great Communities for Tasmania's Children Forum

Local Government Community Health and Well Being Project

Local Government plays a key role in providing for the health and wellbeing of Tasmanian communities.  LGAT works to improve awareness and understanding that role by:

  • Advocating regarding the essential role councils play in improving Tasmanian’s health outcomes
  • Promoting understanding about the best ways to support that essential role

Building Great Communities for Tasmania's Children Forum

The Building Great Communities for Tasmania’s Children forum was hosted by LGAT, City of Hobart, B4 Early Years Coalition and the Australian Early Years Census - Tasmania in Campbell Town on 5 July 2018.

The forum bought together a diverse range of speakers covering topics including the role of Local Government in early childhood, child-friendly communities, the arts, playgrounds, using data for planning and engaging with children to help shape their communities.

The forum was attended by 32 people including representatives from eight councils, along with workers from community organisations and State Government.
