This Senior Leaders Forum is for council executives or management team members.
It will provide you with professional development opportunities where you’ll hear from senior leaders within, and external to, the local government sector about what it means to lead an organisation facing today’s challenges.
As an attendee, you will gain insights into how general managers can work effectively with elected representatives, career progression to a general manager position and the sector’s challenges and opportunities for the future.
Please note, this is an invitation only event. If you’re interested in attending, please contact your general manager or LGAT prior to registering.
Registrations are capped at two attendees per council, with a waitlist for additional registrations (pending total registrations).

A dinner will be held at the Spring Bay Mill - 555 Freestone Point Road Triabunna on Wednesday July 6.

9.10am | Dion Lester, CEO LGAT The local government sector faces a number of risks and has a number of opportunities to better support their communities. Dion will provide sector-wide perspective on these and explore what these mean for council leaders. |
9.55am | James Dryburgh, General Manager, Brighton Council General Managers (GMs) must balance the delivery of the council’s strategic priorities against the day-to-day operations and forward-looking risk management of the organisation. How can they use they leadership role to support council to meet emerging and challenging issues? |

11.10am | David Morris, Director, Simmons Wolfhagen Lawyers David has extensive experience as legal counsel and as a board director. He will share his must know insights for local government leaders on governance and the regulatory framework. |

1.30pm | Katy Cooper, Director City Futures, City of Hobart Katy has been helping organisations build plans for futures they can’t see yet. She has recently joined the City of Hobart. She will explore the over the horizon opportunities for local government. |
2.30pm | Christine Finnegan, GM Commercial and Marketing, Jack Jumpers Christine has held senior positions across a range of sporting codes including Australian Rules, Rugby and now basketball with the Jack Jumpers. She will share what she has learnt about leadership and succeeding in a sector that has been traditionally male-dominated. |
