Awards for Excellence

The Local Government Awards for Excellence recognise excellence in Local Government for the benefit of Tasmanians.  The Tasmanian Local Government Awards are presented for projects that, large or small, internal or external focus, benefit the community and promote a better future for Tasmania. So as well as celebrating outstanding efforts, the awards aim to promote sharing of good management practices and effective responses to community needs.

LGAT implemented a review of the Local Government Awards for Excellence in 2008 with the aim of developing more contemporary award categories and better supporting all councils to apply.  Along with our new award categories we have a new look brochure and Entry Form template.

Council initiatives that demonstrate excellence in any of the five award categories are eligible for entry.

  *  Delivering Excellence for our communities

  *  Delivering Excellence for our People

  *  Delivering Excellence in Natural and Built Environments

  *  Demonstrating Operational Excellence
