At the conclusion of the LOGONS project in June 2005, 24 Tasmanian councils have new websites using the Unity DCW Content Management System (CMS) developed specifically for use by local government.
As such, users of Tasmanian council websites can enjoy an increased consistency of experience, together with an improved range of useful, local information.
The Unity DCW enables council employees to better manage website data.
Councils using the Unity CMS can also have job ads automatically uploaded to the LGAT "Think Big Work Local" careers website.
It should be noted that four councils: Burnie, Devonport, Hobart and Launceston had previously made investments in content management systems appropriate for their councils.
