Voluntary Amalgamation Conversations to Begin in February

The Minister for Planning and Local Government has written to councils proposing regional meetings to discuss voluntary amalgamations.

Councils will be keen to broaden the discussion to strategic resource sharing and shared services as well as other potential efficiency and effectiveness measures.
